NIGERIAN AIR FORCE DISMISSES BOKO HARAM’S CLAIM OF SHOOTING DOWN ITS FIGHTER JET

The Nigerian air force (NAF) says its alpha jet was not shot down by Boko Haram insurgents.
Recall. the aircraft went off the radar on Wednesday during an operation around the Sambisa Forest in Borno State.
The NAF Director of Public Relations, Air Commodore EDWARD GABKWET said the footage in circulation which is still being thoroughly analysed, could be from a previous incident, stressing that there was nothing to prove that the aircraft belonged to the NAF.
The spokesman noted that it is evident that most parts of the video were deliberately doctored to give the false impression that the aircraft was shot down, reiterating that the lush vegetation in the video suggests it was not in the Northeast.
GABKWET advised that the video be ignored until all investigations as to how the aircraft crashed are completed.
