MEMBERS OF NON-ACADEMIC STAFF UNION OF EDUCATION AND ASSOCIATED INSTITUTIONS STAGES PROTEST TO RIVERS ASSEMBLY OVER NON-INCLUSION IN APPROVED TEACHERS PENSION SCHEME

Members of Non-Academic Staff Union of Education and Associated Institutions in the state have staged a peaceful protest calling on both Federal and state government to include them in the approved teachers pension scheme.

Our correspondent reports that the protesters took the protest to the state government house and House of Assembly complex.

Speaking on behalf of the protesters, the state Chairman of NASU in the state, Azubuike Nkasiobu expressing the grievances of the union said they decided to petition the National Assembly through the state Assembly over what he described as unfair and discriminatory practices of the federal government against it’s members.

Addressing the NASU members at the Assembly, speaker of the Assembly, IKUINYI-OWAJI IBANI said the Assembly was ready to give the NASU members ample support if their issues are brought before the House and applauded their peaceful disposition.
