Police operatives of the Elekahia Division in Port Harcourt have arrested an officer and his suspected accomplice who were robbing people of their valuables.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police, NNAMDI OMONI, said the suspects were identified as Sergeant IBRAHIM ODEGE attached to the Operations Department of the Rivers Police Command and one Nembe, Bayelsa State-born, SAMPSON INOMOGHE.
The statement noted that tree handsets belonging to their victims and one locally-made Baretta Pistol. were recovered from the suspects who confessed to the crime.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP JOSEPH MUKAN has condemned the act and ordered the immediate transfer of Suspects and Exhibits to the State Criminal Investigation Department for Investigation.
