Tesla Chief Executive Officer, ELON MUSK has acquired a 9.2 per cent stake in social media platform, Twitter, making him its largest shareholder.

This was revealed in the US Securities and Exchange Commission 13G filing released by MUSK which indicates that the stake is worth 2.89 billion dollars, based on Twitter’s closing price last Friday.

The announcement also raised Twitter’s shares by more than 25 per cent in Monday’s premarket trading.
This development comes less than two weeks after Musk questioned Twitter’s adherence to free speech principles.
