The National Industrial Safety Council of Nigeria is seeking an increase of the fines for fines paid for violation of safety protocols in the workplace.
The National President of the Council, CLETUS AKHIGBE made the call on the backdrop of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work which observed globally every April 28th.
AKHIGBE, who featured on our Real Talk current affairs programme, also advocated the strengthening of the regulatory body in line with this year’s theme: ‘Anticipate, prepare and respond to crisis and invest now in resilient OHS systems’.
It may interest you to know that OHS means Occupational Safety and Health Systems.
