The Presidency has defended the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Doctor ISA PANTAMI, describing the controversy over his support for terror groups as an orchestrated attempt to ‘cancel’ him.
This was contained in a statement issued by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, GARBA SHEHU.
The Presidency alleged that the recent calls for PANTAMI’s sack or resignation was sponsored by the opposition and some unidentified Information and Communication Technology (ICT) companies.
The statement noted that PANTAMI made enemies because he tried to put Nigeria first and had initiated plans and policies that would profit the public by the deregistrating 9.5 million SIM cards.
