The apex socio-cultural organization of Etche ethnic nationality, the Ogbakor Etche, has condemned a seven-day ultimatum credited to one AZUBUIKE NWALA, against Rivers State Governor, NYESOM WIKE.
NWALA was quoted in a statement saying Governor WIKE should within seven days accord a befitting state burial to late Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency lawmaker, JEROME EKE, the lgolo 1 of Etche because he did not die of purported COVID-19 as alleged.
The statement further said the late federal lawmaker rather died as a result of shock of the sudden death of his wife.
In a reaction, the President-General of the body, CHARLES NWONUALA said Ogbakor Etche was not happy with the ultimatum given to the Governor.
NWONUALA called on Governor WIKE as well as the general public to ignore and disregard it, noting that Ogbakor Etche could neither support nor back such unguided statement which is capable of whipping up tension in the area.
NWONUALA also observed that Etche people were still mourning the demise of their illustrious son and the deceased should be allowed to rest in the bosom of the LORD.
