Rivers State Governor, NYESOM WIKE has advised the Interim Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission to shun politics and focus on delivering projects to the people of the region.
Governor WIKE gave the advice at the Government House in Port Harcourt, during a courtesy visit by the Interim administrator of the Commission, EFFIONG AKWA.
WIKE expressed disappointment with the performance of previous Managing Directors of the commission, alleging that the NDDC was used as a cash cow by politicians to rig elections.
Governor WIKE also charged them to consult with the Governors of the NDDC states before embarking on any project to avoid duplication of projects.
In a remark, EFFIONG AKWA, revealed that the newly constructed NDDC headquarters would be opened on the 25th of February.
