CENTRAL BANK OF NIGERIA OPPOSES ANOTHER ROUND OF CORONAVIRUS LOCKDOWN.

The Monetary Policy Committee, MPC, of the Central Bank of Nigeria is opposed to another round of coronavirus lockdown.
CBN Governor GODWIN EMEFIELE, who made this known in Abuja at the end of the first MPC meeting in 2021, said the Bank would work with the fiscal authorities to revamp the economy by working on policy implementation.
EMEFIELE also disclosed that the CBN has secured approval from President Muhammadu Buhari to restructure the Nigeria Commodity Exchange.
The CBN Governor also announced that the MPR would remain at 11.5 per cent for the first quarter of the year.
