The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC says it seized 119 gallons of suspected adulterated petroleum products in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The Commandant of the NSCDC in Rivers State, Commandant MUKTAR LAWAL said operatives made the seizure in an illegal dump yard along Rumuomasi community.
Speaking during an inspection to the illegal site, LAWAL said operation was coordinated by the Special Anti Vandal Team specialised in identifying illegal dumps site in the state.
The NSCDC Boss, who was represented by the spokesperson of the command, Assistant Commandant OGUNTUASE MICHAEL, said the team arrested a suspect, EZIKE SHOKE, with adulterated petroleum products in Port Harcourt.
Correspondent AYO ODUNGWERU reports that The NSCDC commandant decried the location of the illegal dump site in a residential area, which might have negative health effects on residents.
