CHIEF JUDGE OF RIVERS STATE JUSTICE ADAMA IYAYE LAMIKANRA RELEASES OVER ONE HUNDRED INMATES FROM CORRECTIONAL CENTERS IN PORT HARCOURT, DEGEMA AND AHOADA AS PART OF EFFORTS TO DECONGEST PRISONS.

The Rivers State Chief Judge, Justice ADAMA IYAYE LAMIKANRA has released over one hundred inmates from correctional centers in Port Harcourt, Degema and Ahoada prisons as part of efforts to decongest the facilities.
During the jail delivery, fifty-seven inmates were released from Port Harcourt Correctional Center on 30th November and 3rd of December, while forty-two inmates were released from Degema on the 2nd December.
Twenty-five inmate were released from Ahoada Correctional Centre on the 1st December, while two persons were granted bail at Port Harcourt and Degema correctional centers.
The jail delivery exercise is in accordance with the provision of section 1 Subsection 11 of the Criminal Justice, Special Provision Act 2004.
