The people of Okogbe Clan, Okodua Kingdom, in Ahoada West Local Government Area have insisted that their farmlands and forest reserves were burnt down following a fire from installations owned by Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC.
The Ada of EkpeyeLogbothe Second,Doctor PATRICIA WADHIGA told our correspondent KINGSLEY VIGAAGE Okogbe people noticed the fire incident on the 24th of February.
Doctor WADHIGA also queried the alleged absence of SPDC representatives at a meeting brokered with other stakeholders.
Doctor WADHIGA, who regretted the impact of the fire incident on their farmlands, further called for justice adding that the inferno destroyed the ecosystem of the area.
When contacted, MICHAEL ADANDE of the External Affairs unit of the SPDC said its technical team did not have a record of the incident and asked for more details to ensure a better response.
