TAIWAN EXPRESS TRAIN CRASH LEAVES 48 PEOPLE DEAD, IN CHINESE ISLAND’S WORST RAIL DISASTER IN ALMOST FOUR DECADES.

Written by on April 2, 2021

Forty eight people were killed today after a Taiwan express train derailed in a tunnel.

The crash of the train with almost 500 aboard also injured 66 people in the island’s reportedly worst rail disaster in almost forty years. Images from the scene showed carriages in the tunnel ripped apart by the impact, with others crumpled slowing down rescuers in their efforts to reach passengers, north of the eastern city of Hualien.

Other reports indicated that no one was still trapped after the crash of the train carrying many tourists and people heading home, at the start of a long weekend traditional holiday to tend to family graves.
