Rivers State Government has accused two groups, African Grassroots Empowerment Organisation and Rivers State Ethnic Youth Leaders Coalition of planning to breach the peace in the State.
In a statement, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, PAULINUS NSIRIM, said the groups led by PRINCE GOMENE NAMENE and LEGBORSI YAMAABANA were hired for the action.
The commissioner’s allegation came after the two groups threatened to shut down the operations of Julius Berger Nigeria PLC today over alleged breach of local content and corporate social responsibility requirements.
The commissioner said the protest sponsored by so-called enemies of the state would frustrate the ongoing construction of five Flyovers at Rumuola, GRA Junction, Orochiri-Worukwo, Oroabali and Nkpolu-Oroworukwo.
