Prime Minister BORIS JOHNSON says the United Kingdom is “building up their own long-term UK manufacturing capabilities” for Covid vaccines.
JOHNSON said Novavax is going to make a vaccine and GlaxoSmithKline will also finish and bottle vaccines both in the North East.
The Prime Minister at a Downing Street briefing said they would provide between 50 and 60 million UK-made vaccines.
He spoke alongside chief medical officer Professor CHRIS WHITTY and chief scientific adviser Sir PATRICK VALLANCE.
