TREE-PLANTING
Some journalists in Rivers State are seeking the creation of an agency to enforce anti-tree felling laws to prevent people from indiscriminate felling of tress in the state.
The Executive Director of Journalists for Sustainable Development in Nigeria, PARRY BENSON gave this advice while speaking at a tree planting event held by the group at Isaac Boro Park in Port Harcourt. PARRY who wondered why people had not cultivated the attitude of tree planting despite it many advantages, appealed to the state government to plant more trees on major places to provide clean air for human consumption.
In an address, State Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, SUSAN SEREKARA NWIKHANA called on all and sundry to yield to the call of planting more trees.
