This follows a letter sent to the state assembly by the state Governor, NYESOM WIKE requesting that the bill be amended and further requested for an advance payment of more than 30 percent of the contract sum as mobilization fee.
The Majority Leaders of the House, MARTIN AMEAWHULE said when passed into law, it may be cited as Rivers State Public Procurement Amendment law of 2021.
The Speaker of the House, IKUNYI OWAJI IBANI said the bill may authorize advance payment of more than the contract sum to any supplier under the provision, subject to ratification of the Rivers State Executive Council.
