SUPREME COURT AFFIRMS DOUYE DIRI AS DULY ELECTED BAYELSA STATE GOVERNOR

A seven-man panel of the Supreme Court has affirmed DOUYE DIRI as the duly elected Bayelsa State Governor.
In a unanimous judgment delivered by Justice SYLVESTER NGWUTA, the Apex Court dismissed the six appeals filed against the governor and his deputy, LAWRENCE EWHRUDJAKPO.
The appeals dismissed were filed by Alliance for Democracy (AD), Advanced Nigeria Democratic Party (ANDP), Labour Movement (LM) and Accord Party.
Justice NGWUTA, in his judgement, established the dismissal of the appeals on the withdrawal of the six appeals by lawyers of the appellants.
